Where to Start
| The morning of December 18th was designated "Unpacking Day". Ray and I pushed the car over to an area where we could unpack the car and still not have to hike a mile to the storage area above his shop. We removed all of the pieces that were put on in Phoenix and then some. All of the pieces were inventoried, dried (Chuck hit some rain on the trip), and rewrapped. Once most of the pieces were off the car we decided to pull the engine and transmission and store them in a dry place. The next step was to remove and completely disassemble the doors. | ![]() |

I learned quickly that Ray wasn't going to do everything for me. He will teach you how to work on your car but won't do things that he knows you can and need to know how to do. He shows you how to do the first one and then turn you loose on the rest. What took him five minutes to do took me more like thirty. |

By the end of the day there wasn't much left on the body. The car was covered in plastic and left to weather the big snow storm of 2000. You can't see it but my car was completely packed with the items I was to take home, clean, and store until we need them. I had all of the small body parts that were removed from the car, all of the chrome, and everything from the interior except for the seats packed into my Lebaron. |
