First Sight - Page 2

Hugh McDowell arrived about the same time we began to drop the engine and transmission into the frame.  Hugh volunteered to crawl under the car and line up the transmission mounts while Chuck and Mike worked on getting the engine lined up from the front.
After the engine was in place we decided that it was time to take a short break and figure out where we wanted to start next.
About the time we finished bolting the engine down, Russ Ware and his father-in-law, Doyal Humphries of New Mexico, arrived and were ready to start work wherever they were needed.  Russ and Doyal took on the job of bolting down the rear fenders and then began reinstalling the trunk lid hinges and finally the trunk lid.
The Grand Canyon Chapter of the Studebaker Driver's Club took over when it came down to hanging the sheet metal.  Chuck and Hugh began working on the front end while Russ and Doyal finished up the back end and then went around to the front and installed the hinges for the hood.  They then went on to hang the doors.
